Gig Stuff

This weekend I had the pleasure of playing gigs at a couple of my regular places and also got to sing a song at Kulak’s Woodshed to top it all off. Playing CAP Theater with my band on Friday was very cool. It became an interesting night when the rap group that was scheduled to play on the bill wound up in a car wreck and weren’t able to get to the theater.

In order to make the night work, Lonny Stevens the director called on some additional talent that was in the house. Turns out there was a comic in the audience named Lou who told some very funny jokes that we all enjoyed. Another rapper named Marvelous was working the spot light for the show, so he came up next and performed.

After that Biff Scarborough sang some blues and then we played our set. Lou remembered some other jokes he had, so he came up again after we played. Then Bill McRae, my keyboard player, sang a few of his songs. Voyce McGinley, III then did a killer drum stick solo playing the floor, and then we all sang “Crossroads”. It was good.

Blessings!
Laura
