Fun

I was filling out a questionnaire about my personality. I would think by now I wouldn’t care about that stuff, but every so often I get these things and I can’t resist seeing what the answers show. When I got to the part about what I do for fun, I realized that things have changed over the years. Fun for me now isn’t what it used to be.

Fun is having dinner with a friend, seeing live theater, going to the store, getting to meditate for awhile and not having anything scheduled in particular. I used to think someone like me was boring. Maybe I’ve just mellowed out. Fun used to be going to rock concerts and going to big parties. Now I like sweat lodges with ceremonial drumming.

It’s pretty cool how in the same lifetime it’s as if I’ve lived many different lifetimes over the years. Some things haven’t changed and are still just as fun as when I was a kid. Eating ice cream, getting an order of french fries with any meal, and spending time with flowers and trees still lands a happy smile on my face and puts me in a state of wonder.
