BB King's

I was playing at BB King’s at Universal City Walk tonight and what a great venue! The sound is great, (because they have a great sound guy named Rip!), there are cool stage lights, (Rip does lights, too!) and the stage has awesome monitors which were set up beautifully! I appreciate a club venue with show biz all over it.

It also helps to be in a venue that was designed to have live music instead of one where live music was an after thought to help get more business in a place. All venues with live music are cool venues to play, but it doesn’t come across as the real deal the way a club does. I can always tell the difference because of the feedback I get after a show.

It’s usually the sound person in a club that makes the show amazing. Rip has done sound for lots of big acts so he knows what works and how to give an artist what they need on stage. Not everyone can do that even if their intention is to do a good job. My friends who were at this show heard the difference and told me so.

Blessings!
Laura
