Gifts
When I take stock in the people in my life I realize that I am surrounded in gifts. The love that I share with people, even ones that I’ve never met face to face is amazing to me. Maybe that happens because we’re all part of the same thing here and there is a lot of love for us to share.
People are gifts even when they’re not aware of it. Even the so-called assholes in my life have been gifts to me, because of what I’ve learned. The driver on the street who seemed to be annoyed with me today was a gift. I could see the reflection of when I am annoyed and it made me laugh. I can be so silly when I’m caught up in things.
Someone wrote to me who had stumbled across my website. His name is Jeremy. He told me some things in response to what he had read in my blog. It was beautiful to have a complete stranger share what he finds meaningful in life. At the end he said, “The question that I bring myself back to is "what have I done to improve the world?" Amen.
