Everyone

I was playing through some songs for my gig this Friday at Michael’s Pub in North Hollywood and rehearsed a song of mine called “Everyone”. I wrote it for a church service when I lived in Telluride. Some of my favorite songs that I’ve written came from being in that church. It’s funny to me that songs of mine are very Christian, being Jewish.

The pastor, Emily, had a vision that if Christians everywhere could see the world as one through the eyes of love in one moment together that it could bring about a great change in the world. I liked the thought but wanted to include everyone, not just Christians. So when I wrote the song it was for everyone.

The song opens with this consideration: “What if everyone is everyone? And we all could see we are all the same? We are one moment in our time. If we all could see together and all share the same vision in one moment we could understand how to take time in this moment and help each other with a loving hand.” I’d like to see that for Christmas.

Blessings!
