Focus

I’ve heard it said that what you focus on expands, so I’m focusing on what I love. It’s more fun to think about what I love and I’m also doing it as an experiment to see what happens when I do that for an extended period of time. The last “experiment” I did that created a great change for me was to stop complaining.

Supposedly if I stopped complaining about anything, even in my thoughts, for 7 days my life would change for the better. So I tried to do it. I found that after 5 days I was more amused, having more fun and liked people a whole lot more than I did before I started. The best part about it was that, overall, I’ve been happier ever since.

The trickiest thing I found was some of my complaining was so ingrained in me that it didn’t seem like complaining. So focusing now on what I love helps to shift that. My favorite thing to say is that I love having lots of money. I smile just saying it. You can try it, too. Just say, “I love having ____”and fill in the blank with what you want.

Blessings!
