Happy Father's Day!

My parents live out of town, so I called my dad to wish him a Happy Father’s Day. We had a nice talk. Last year my parents were in town for Father’s Day so we got to hang out. When I called my dad, he was watching the golf tournament and relaxing. He and my mom are going out to dinner later on. He said he was feeling good.

I’m not sure who came up with Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. Probably some people who were fed up with their teenagers and wanted to have a day where they would have to be acknowledged for all the sacrifices they had made for their kids. I’m not a parent, but it takes a lot of dedication and work. And there are no guarantees when it comes to kids.

My parents did what they thought was right for their children and they did it with love in their hearts. My brother, sister and I seem to have turned out okay. We’re very different from each other in how we live our lives. It’s amazing that we grew up in the same house. If it weren’t for my parents I don’t think I would have met my siblings in this life.
