My Dad

The other day when I was at Whole Foods, I realized how much my Dad taught me about caring for others and being kind to strangers. He made it a point when I was a little girl to let me know that people are important in what they do. He let me know that people matter and it is important for me to be kind to them and acknowledge them where I meet them.

He wanted me to be a caring person who made a difference in the world when I grew up. My Dad was always nice to people who waited on the public. He knew the people in the grocery store where he shopped. He would take the time to talk to janitors in buildings, garage attendants and service people who worked in stores and businesses.

It hit me when I was talking to the people I see who work at Whole Foods how much I’m like my Dad in that way. I know that what my Dad taught me about caring for other people and how important it is for me to be kind to others influences my motivation as an artist. I have a deep love for people and it was something I was taught.

Blessings!
