Time Alone

Not everyone likes time alone. For me it’s vital. It gives me a break to re-charge and integrate what’s been going on. I need down time so I don’t get burnt out. I need time alone to write, work on music, and focus on what’s in my heart. Most artists have to spend time alone so they can work. When I painted I spent a lot of time alone.

What’s interesting about my time alone is that I’m not lonely when I’m alone. I’m able to stay more connected in my heart when I’m alone than when I spend time with other people, depending on what’s going on. I love people a lot, but I find that I need a break from the mirror they reflect. Some times what people reflect is hard for me to translate.

I’m someone who needs to improve, grow and become more evolved in my life here. When I’m with people, the mirror shows me where I’m at, where I’m going, and how far I have yet to go in my goals. Collectively, some basic things seem like they are about to change. I think it’s a necessity in what we are about. Something inside of us has to grow.
