The Beach
I was given a beautiful framed print of a beach painting today. My friends are moving out of state and asked me if I would like to have it. They’re moving to Omaha. It was really a nice surprise and very special to me that they wanted me to have it. I love the ocean and how powerful it is. It amazes me how something so daunting can be so peaceful to me.
Even though I live in LA, I don’t find I get to the ocean all that much. I stay busy in the Valley. Ever since I lived in Telluride I find it pretty easy to generate enough activity within a 2 mile radius from where I live to keep my time occupied. Telluride is in a box canyon. The town is 2 ½ sq. miles long and the closest stop light was 65 miles away.
I could do more business walking to the post office and the bank in one day in Telluride than calling anyone on the phone. Now a lot of what I do gets taken care of via email and the internet. I still love talking on the phone. I like having a painting of a private beach to look at while I’m working at my desk. It’s peaceful and reminds me to breathe.
