Potato Chips & Chocolate

My studio staple foods for recording are salted potato chips and some kind of chocolate. The chocolate isn’t necessarily the best for my singing voice, but it is great for my mood. I’m a daily chocolate of some kind girl and very happy about that. I’m about to leave for the studio to record more vocals and just got back from Rite-Aid getting my stash.

I also got tea and fruit drinks. Anything with high fructose corn syrup is good for my throat. I also bring plenty of water. The oil and salt on the potato chips are great for my voice. I have a lucky skirt that I’ve been wearing when I go to the studio to record as well. When something works, keep doing it. And I’m into what works.

So those are my creative quirks on this project. I also bring medicine gifts every couple of sessions. It’s something I learned from doing Indian sweat lodges. The Native American culture is really beautiful. And since the first song off the album that we’ll be releasing is “Wakantanka”, keeping with tradition is important here, for my ancestors.

Blessings!
Laura
