Sentences

I heard someone say once that when we put words together and say something, we are creating sentences for ourselves that we have to live in. My mind flashed to a criminal being sentenced to a prison term. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that when someone is put behind bars it’s a prison sentence. Our words create circumstances in life.

When I first started writing music, I noticed that my lyrics were depressing to me. I didn’t want to sing a song if what I was saying was going to make me feel bad or make me feel stuck. So I started changing the words so what I was saying in my songs gave me movement and hope that I could do better, and things would improve.

Then I started paying more attention to how I used words and what I would agree to when people were talking to me, and that helped me change a lot. I was talking to a friend who I talked to a lot about positive speaking and spirituality when we first met. He had never been exposed to that. Now it’s 10 years later and he loves his life and what he does.

Blessings!
Laura
