Sunset Ranch Hollywood

I played a show at Sunset Ranch Hollywood last night. It was a terrific experience to turn north onto Beachwood Dr. off Franklin in Hollywood, drive up to the top of the road and find myself in the mountains in a rustic setting. It was wonderful to meet the people who work up there and great to see all the horses. Horses are special.

It’s been awhile since I’ve gone to the mountains and every time I do it brings me the most peaceful feeling. Performing outside under the stars with the full moon’s light was the perfect thing for me. Having a heater on stage with me was also a gift. It gets a little cold at night at elevation and it’s hard for me to perform well if I’m cold.

It’s nice to know that nature is accessible in the heart of city life. Most people think of LA as a concrete place. There is that aspect here. There are also some of the most gracious and kind people I have ever met living in LA, especially in the entertainment industry. I look for the best in people when I meet them and that’s usually why I find that.

Blessings!
Laura
