Recipe for A Hit Record

It helps to have a little bit of talent going into the studio, some playing chops and a song that people can relate to, but the recipe for a hit record starts to happen with the team of people you record with. A producer/engineer that knows the gear, how to get the sound that’s needed and has a great ear for what sound is needed is the first main ingredient.

Having a producer that can get the vocal performance from the artist that makes the song come alive is crucial and not something everyone with a bunch of gear knows how to do. And a great vocal coach can get a singer ready for the studio, so be willing to do the prep work. It’s worth it. The difference in the sound quality of the raw tracks is noticeable.

The next main ingredients are the players adding instrumentation to the song. Recording with a studio that has world class musicians working on their projects makes your song world class. The better the players are on your record the better your record is, and the easier it is for your producer to make the song amazing. It’s a very cool process.

Blessings!
