Double Gigging

Other artist’s flakiness has really been a benefit to me in my music career. I was booked to play Michael’s Pub, got a call in the afternoon to see if I could play LAMN Jam and also got an email offering me a set at Universal Bar & Grill to end the night. I’m doing an MTV thing in the morning, so 3 gigs was not a good thing for me this time.

I did enjoy double gigging. I got to play in Hollywood for the LAMN Jam. 3 industry pros critique 4 artists' performance of 2 of their songs. One of the judges, Jan Linder-Koda invited me to join her songwriters’ coalition for children’s music, so I’m really excited to be part of that. And Paul Michael of RCEG asked me to give him a call.

Good stuff and not bad for a fill in gig. Playing Michael’s Pub afterwards was really fun, too. Some of the regulars there requested my song “I Am” which is a sing-a –long, and it was great to see them smiling and laughing while they were singing. They say that 80% of success is showing up. The other 20 % comes in because other people don’t show up.

Blessings!
