Praying All Night

I learned something new today. I was over at a friend’s house for a Passover dinner, (it’s the start of the last part of the 8 day holiday) and found out that tonight is one of the 3 nights of the year that Jewish men will pray until dawn, well some of them anyway. In some places the prayer teachings end at midnight. The reason for the all-nighter is cool.

Apparently, God makes certain decisions about how people’s lives are going to be for certain periods of time on certain days of the year. I knew that during the High Holidays, Jews are written into the Book of Life and get the opportunity to make amends for past wrongs and clean the slate. I didn’t know about the other Holiday evaluations.

God decides things like how much money a person is going to have, if someone will be getting married, having children and stuff like that. So on this Holy night, I have a request for God. Being a woman, I can ask God for things when I need to and today I need a miracle. The miracle I need will change my life and bring me peace in my Soul.
