Potluck Israeli Seder
The great thing about being around Israeli people is listening to them speak and read Hebrew. That may sound a little weird, but being raised in an American Jewish community where Hebrew was taught in order to say prayers and not for any comprehension of what is being read, it’s refreshing and fun to hear it for real.
It was the most entertaining seder I’ve ever been to, not at all formal and very spirited. I especially enjoyed all the songs that were sung. After dinner, the singing and banging on the tables got so roudy that one of the neighbors called the police because we were so loud. I’d never been to a seder that truly celebrated freedom from slavery as a party before.
Blessings!
