NARIP: Music for Film & TV w/ the Brabec Brothers
NARIP had a great event tonight with Jeffrey & Todd Brabec. They wrote, “Music Money and Success: The Insider’s Guide to Making Money in the Music Business”. They’re identical twins. Currently, Jeff is the VP of Business Affairs at Chrysalis Music Group and Todd is the Executive VP of ASCAP. They know their stuff.
They covered a lot of subjects and there were many things they said that caught my attention. One thing Todd said that Jeff concurred with was that “there’s a market for everything”. That gave me hope. Another thing Todd pointed out was that “once you lose a right or bargain it away it’s gone forever”. That’s a huge lesson to learn.
It was nice to hear them give a quick overview of important business subjects in regards to film and television music. The Brabec brothers’ book is considered a must-read by many professionals. It is an in-depth guide to financial success in the music industry. I bought a copy. It’s great that 2 veteran pros got together to share their knowledge.
