Dead Relatives

Every so often my mind thinks of relatives that have passed away. It’s not always a conscious thought that my heritage has a lot to do with my make-up, and not just in regards to DNA. How my parents were raised in their families seems to have carried over and the psyche of my lineage has been pretty well ingrained in the fabric of my being.

So when my dead relatives come to mind, I consider it an opportunity to acknowledge them and the gifts that I have in my life that are part of their legacy. My grandparents and their parents and their parents all had experiences in their lives that impact what I deal with today. I’m sure it goes back further, but those lives are the ones I feel most.

The love I can give those who walked before me and whose bloodline I carry is more precious than I probably know. There are things we can do when we are alive on this planet in these bodies that we aren’t able to do once we leave. I feel honored when I get the chance to do things for my ancestors here that they aren’t able to do for themselves.
