My Elderly Friend

I have a number of friends who are elderly. It’s a wonderful gift to have friends who have experienced so much of their lives. They can really keep things in perspective. Whenever I talk to them they have a knack for breaking things down in a simple way. They’ve learned so much about life and how to live it. They know what’s important.

One of my friends is getting ready to sell her house. She’s lived there for 45 years. Her husband passed away awhile ago. They never had kids. She has a sister and a nephew who are close to her. Every time I go over there I can just feel the love she has for her home and how happy she’s been living there. The house has a glow from being loved.

She’s got a really good attitude about this new life change that she’s embarking on. I can see she has a level of trust in how things will turn out. Her mind is very sharp. Inside of her frailty and the shaking in her body, she still has the power of a person who knows how things work in life. I admire her strength and her commitment to her heart.

Blessings!
Laura
