Moving Forward

Today I dropped off my rats’ cage and some other stuff to my friend who volunteers at the Wildlife Way Station so another small animal in need will have a home now that my little rats have passed on and don’t need their cage anymore. There’s a sadness I feel inside that is really intense. I miss having my little girls in the house.

I’m glad they aren’t suffering with any illness and that they’ve moved on to a place where they can be healthy and happy. I do feel that they’re in a better place. And I know I will always love them deeply. I still think of them when I’m shopping for food. I used to look for different treats for them when I was at the store. It was fun.

Sheena Metal invited me to play a set at Universal Bar & Grill tonight so I could get my mind off of mourning. My vet’s office felt so bad about me having to put them both to sleep that they sent me a sympathy card. It’s special that people are so caring in this world. I know that isn’t always reported in the news, but I find it to be true in my life.

Blessings!
Laura
