Collaboration

I just got back from rehearsing with Bill McRae for our show coming up at CAP, http://www.completeactorsplace.com/, on Nov.18th. It is such a joy to play with this man. He is an exceptional keyboard player for my music. Maybe it’s because he is just that kind of spirit that he helps me bring the most to a show when we play a gig.

My percussionist, Voyce McGinley, III, http://www.voyce3.com/, is a master of rhythm. One day I hope to play a big enough venue to have him on a drum kit for a show. For now, he comes in with a set of congas and a tambourine mounted to a foot pedal device. It is pure magic when he hits the groove and just about anyone could sound good with him on stage.

I’m excited to play in this trio combo with them. It takes what I do as a singer/songwriter to a new level of colors and imagery. Most importantly, we have a lot of fun playing together so the audience gets to be in on a good thing. This will be the second time we’re playing in this configuration together and it feels nice to have found what works best.

Blessings!
Laura
