FINDING SOLUTIONS TO CURRENT WORLD CONFLICTS REQUIRES NEW THINKING
In response to the latest news of France’s domestic turmoil, LA based singer/songwriter, Laura Cohn, referred to Albert Einstein for finding an answer to resolve social issues. “Einstein noted that the solution for a problem could not be found using the same thinking that created the problem in the first place.” Cohn said, “As a society, we need to start thinking differently.”
“Many conversations that people are having today are no different than what people were saying about their life circumstance 500 – 2000 years ago.” Cohn noted, saying that in reading books from the middle ages and the Talmudic period she could take many of the commentaries written in those times, place them in any newspaper or magazine today and they would be applicable to our current affairs. Cohn suggests that finding new descriptions in what we say could be helpful so history would not continue to keep repeating itself.
Cohn writes a daily blog at http://www.lacohnzone.blogspot.com/ to voice her observations, questions and musings about her life. She has become a philosophical teacher of sorts introducing concepts of awareness through her writing and her live performances. As a graduate from Tulane University with a degree in Political Science, Cohn is very comfortable debating hot topics and controversial issues.
