Great Question

I was talking with a young man today while we were driving toward the Federal Building in Los Angeles. He lives by there and said that there are always demonstrations going on outside on the lawn. It backs up traffic quite a bit. When we drove by, there was a crowd of people waving US and Israeli flags and drivers were honking their car horns.

He asked me why people are always trying to destroy Israel and the Jewish people. He’s a Sephardic Jew. I could feel the sadness in my own heart and in his after he asked. We sat in silence for a moment and I finally said, “I don’t know.” He said that he didn’t know either. We both agreed that it’s sad.

I had spoken with a Jewish Iranian woman earlier who was upset that the President of Iran declared that Israel should be wiped off the face of the Earth. There was even a march where millions of Iranians came out to support him in that declaration. I don’t understand it. I guess I’m not supposed to because otherwise I would.
