Because I Am What I Am, I Am

That’s the chorus of my song, “I Am’. You can hear a sample of the song in the online store on my website, www.LauraCohnMusic.com. I sang that song at my gig at Universal Bar & Grill in North Hollywood. I do it as a sing-along and it’s always fun. It’s great to see people smile when they sing the chorus with me. We laugh.

If someone ever asks you why you’re doing what you’re doing and you don’t even know why, you can answer them with, “Because I am what I am, I am.” There isn’t much they’re really going to be able to say to you after that other than, “Oh. Okay.” I use that on myself when I don’t get what I am and what I do. That may sound strange.

I’m not what I thought I was going to be and I don’t know why that is other than it’s because I am what I am, I am. And there’s a lot about life I don’t have answers for that I thought I would know by now. Why I thought I would have answers for things that humanity has been questioning for thousands of years is beyond me. It’s just what I am.
