12 String Guitars

I went over to Guitar Center to check out 12 string guitars. I had played a gorgeous Taylor 12 string there awhile back, but it was long gone to some very happy owner. The selection didn’t grab me. I also don’t like it when I can feel tension going up my arm from the strings when I play the wrong guitar for me. Ouch!

After that I went over to West LA Music in the Valley, which is east of Universal Studios. They didn’t have many 12 string guitars either. They had a Dean 12 string with a pick-up in it. I have to have a pick-up and need to be able to use a capo with a flat pick and some finger picking way high up on the neck. So I take my time to get the right axe.

Then he told me he had a 12 string Strat downstairs. When he came back up, he also had a 12 string Rickenbacker that was gorgeous. The Rickenbacker had the sweetest sound that’s totally the bomb. He even gave me a good price to get it. But first I had to call my guitar guy about how they rate with a luthier: Not easy to set up and can have problems.

Blessings!
