White-Footed Deer Mouse

When I went to the pet store the other day, I told them about my little mouse, Sasha, that isn’t so little anymore, and asked if they knew how long she might live. They had no clue. So I went online to find out what kind of mouse Sasha is. After a bit of searching around, I found out that my little girl is a white-footed deer mouse.

She’s almost a year old now. Her body is about 6 inches long and her tail is about the same length. I wanted to know how long she might live because the cage she was in when she was given to me is pretty small for her now that she’s 4 times the size she was when she was a baby. According to one expert, Sasha could live between 4-10 years.

So tomorrow, I’m going to get Sasha a 3 story flat with a big wheel and a couple of great dishes for food and treats. She already has a cool water bottle and chewy toys. I really want her to have a good life and if she could be with me for a decade I want her to be set up right. It’s not her fault that a cat scooped her up and took her away from home.
