Doyle Dykes
During his presentation he shared that he needed to find better super glue for his fingertips. He played so much that the skin cracked open on one of his left hand fingers from the strings. Ouch! He also shared that he had completely lost his hearing in his right ear. He didn't say how it happened, but he said that it wasn’t going to stop him for playing.
When he said it, Beethoven crossed my mind. Beethoven was deaf when he wrote some of his work toward the end of his life. Doyle said that his situation had brought him closer to God and that he was grateful that he had what he had in his life. Faith will do that for a person. I felt compassion for Doyle and he helped me be more grateful for what I have.
Blessings!
