I was over at Electric Eel Productions today. They have a studio in North Hollywood. Adam and Costa are the 2 guys who own it. Adam grew up in Deerfield, IL which is a suburb of Chicago next to where I grew up in Highland Park. It’s always fun to run into someone who is from the same area of the country that I am from.

We met today because I’m looking to get some recording done and have started checking out studios. The vibe has to be right, the gear needs to be good and something just needs to click when I go into a recording situation. I’ve learned from not getting usable tracks to know when to pass on working with someone.

The first tune I’m looking to cut is a Neil Young cover to submit for a project. I used to play Neil Young songs when I was in High School before I started writing my own songs. I may cut the song in a few different recording situations with different people to see where I’m best suited to work. Everyone has their own thing when it comes to sound.
