Being Enough

My friend, Eric, and I were talking about being enough. He’s an artist in LA. We were hanging with a group of friends celebrating a couple of birthdays and we got to talking when he walked me to my car. I told him that I have to remember that I am enough right now even though I’m still improving what I do as an artist and a performer.

He smiled at me and told me that it’s not up to me what I’ll be. It’s up to God. I just have to keep doing what I’m here to do everyday and let God take care of the rest. He said I’m just right for what I’m here to do now. It was really good to hear him say that because sometimes I feel overwhelmed. I care very deeply about what I’m here to do.

I don’t know why seeing areas that could use some improvement can be translated by my mind into thinking I’m not enough because I see what would be better and more effective. I have to find a new way of interpreting information so I stay motivated and grateful for the wonderful moments I have with the people that are in my life. Like Eric.
