Memorial Day

It’s nice that we take a day off to remember people who died fighting for a cause. It’s nice to remember people for any reason. In Mexico, they have the Day of the Dead to remember people who have passed away. Souls that are remembered by others are probably very relieved to know they made a difference while they were here.

I remember when I was younger my father made it a point to let me know that it was important to make a contribution to society during my life. A life worth living is a life with meaning. Honesty and integrity were also strong values that he taught me. Not that it’s easy to learn how to live that, but it’s been worth pursuing.

Memorial Day to me also signifies a responsibility for my actions. When what I’m doing has an impact on others, I need to be clear with my intentions and, in my case, be very connected to my heart with God. It’s not that I feel my decisions are going to send people off to war. I just feel strongly that I’d like to be someone that heals and brings in peace.

Blessings!
Laura
