We Come & We Go

That’s the title to a song of mine and I find it’s very true in my life. We do come and go in and out of each other’s lives quite a bit. I don’t usually know the reason I’m meeting someone or how long we’ll be around each other. I just know that when I don’t concern myself much with the results of a situation I can keep things simple.

The chorus of the song is, “I see the sky when we are not islands. Like seasons we come and we go. We’re into pleasing what we are feeling. What do we laugh about? What do we dream about? Seasons, we come and we go. We come and we go.” That seems to be happening more and more lately with people I’m meeting.

It’s always a fascination to me when someone I wouldn’t think would stay in my life becomes an important person to me and someone who I thought would be there is nowhere in sight. It’s nothing personal. It’s just how it is. I believe we serve a greater purpose than what our minds were taught to believe, so I can’t predict much.
