Life = School

Life is like a school for me. There are always new things to learn. It seems that the longer I live, the more I can see myself inside of lessons. I’d say the most prominent lesson I’ve been looking at lately is not to take things personally. Most people are way too absorbed with themselves and what they’re doing and getting to even consider me.

So if someone happens to say something or do something that impacts my life in anyway, most likely they didn’t mean to, good or bad. I’m just an incidental bystander in their “movie” and they are the star of their show. If I’m lucky I can stay out of their way so they can go about their business and get done whatever it is that they need to get done.

I recognize that behavior in people because I used to be like that. It took some time for me to be in a place in myself where I had an understanding that my actions and my words did have an impact on others. Sometimes I still don’t realize that what I’m doing is having an affect. Especially when I’m writing a blog and don’t see who is reading this.
