Helping Others
I usually have to check my motives when I’m ready to jump in and help others. That may sound weird, but my ego likes to think that it can save people, fix things and do things for others that they can’t or won’t do for themselves. And while I might think I’m doing “good”, I can find myself burnt out, frustrated, and not taking care of what I need to do.
It’s funny how subtle that can be. There are times when my helping someone out is a gift. That usually happens in the moment when I just happen to be in the right place at the right time and not much thought has gone into it. If I’m thinking about what another person should be doing and how I can fix that, I need to look at why I’m bothered by it.
Blessings!
