Endings

Today was a first for me…I was at a funeral on the last day of the year. It was kind of a strong ending on many levels to say “Good-bye” to someone like that on New Year’s Eve day. It was more of a celebration of the person’s life than mourning a death. That was nice. It was the perfect weather for a funeral, too…cold and raining.

One woman who got up to speak about the deceased had a great preacher thing going. She said the word “hallelujah” more times in 2 minutes than I had heard the word all year. There was something really soothing about that. Among other things she said that we are all the sons and daughters of God and that we need to be the glory of God.

She was passionate and determined for everyone to hear the importance of what she was saying. I got that. She said to only speak the positive with the tongue and to only give power to what is true and what love is and what is God. She didn’t even use the microphone and she was the only person that we could hear clearly. That was cool.

Blessings!
Laura
