Salt

Maybe it’s just me and maybe I’m a little off center at times, but lately I’ve been eating a lot more salt in my food and I’ve lost weight and have had less of an appetite. To qualify that statement more, I was barely adding any salt to the food I ate so I had a low sodium diet. I eat a lot of whole foods that aren’t processed.

What started this new trend for me was when it got cold outside and lots of people around me were getting sick with the flu and various kinds of colds. I started making homemade soup and was adding a lot of salt to it as a way to take care of my throat so it would stay moist and happy. Hot, salty soup is great for keeping my voice in shape.

Another thing I learned about sodium bicarbonate is that for women, whose systems are acidic, drinking water with baking soda in it is a cure for depression. If the body is too acidic that inhibits the body’s ability to turn proteins into amino acids into neurotransmitters which is what the brain needs to function properly. Drinking water with baking soda in it balances out the body’s PH in minutes.
