What I Need

I heard about someone who said that they don’t know what they need in their life and that when they think everything is coming together, that’s usually when things are falling apart. They also said that when things seem to be at their worst, that’s when they’re coming together. I thought that was odd but it made sense.

That was even odder to me. I guess turning points have come about for me when things have been “at their worst” because I had to find a way to pull myself out of the wreckage and that’s a powerful moment. It’s making a decision in a moment of truth that steers my direction. It’s not like I know how to do what needs to be done, I just make the decision.

That points me toward something. Then I’m looking at that something, and then I can move forward. I don’t know what I need in my life, other than the basics. And even when I know the basics, I can’t say that I know what the best way for me to have those basics is. So that’s when I need to have faith in whatever makes me think I think what I think.
