One Year Ago Today

It was raining and cold last year on March 20th last year and it’s been raining and cold today, March 20th, 2006. I know this because it was last year on March 20th that I brought home these 2 little white female baby rats from a TV shoot that were going to be snake food or left for dead in the cold rain in a canyon. There names are Carole and Nicole.

It’s amazing how attached I am to these little girls, who are now my babies. I never considered having rodents as pets, but these 2 rats are incredibly loving and sweet. They are full grown now and have developed their own personalities. Carole is more athletic and likes to run on the wheel a lot. Nicole won’t even go inside of it.

A friend of mine told me that once you start feeding something you get attached to it. I’m not sure about that. I was given a mouse 6 months ago that needed a home. Her name is Sasha. She is a field mouse and isn’t quite sure about the domestic thing. She was rescued from a cat’s mouth. I’m not all that attached to her like I am to my rats.

Blessings!
Laura
