The Question Mark

A few years ago, I heard someone say that it’s a good idea to wait for the question mark when listening to someone talking about whatever is going on with them. It was explained that waiting for the question mark was a good way to avoid trying to give unwanted advice. Sometimes people just need to be heard and aren’t asking for advice.

It isn’t something that I have been great at remembering to do. But a friend of mine reminded me that Sagittarius people think they know everything. Being a Sag girl, I have that trait. When I hear someone complaining or venting, my inclination is to try to find solutions for them. My head says, “Why else would they be talking to me?”

I was able to wait for the question mark in a conversation today and it made the conversation easier and more pleasant. When there was a pause and a question hadn’t been asked, I asked a question instead of commenting on anything. Then my question was answered. This happened several times and it was really nice to listen.
