LAMN Jam

So what was cool about performing at LAMN Jam is the format of the show. Each artist plays 2 songs and afterwards gets feedback from industry pros. I was on the bill with fellow troubadours, Richard Preske, John Rivitte, Aaron Wolfson, and Jody Whitesides. Jody Whitesides won the overall “competition” so he’ll be back for the “Best Of” night.

LAMN Jam is the Anti-American Idol. The panel of industry folks included music publisher Robert Walls, songwriter/producer Dick Wagner, and producer Jan Linder-Coda. Jan got caught in traffic, so Dick’s producing partner Suzie Michaelson stepped in. I was the first performer, so Suzie was on the panel for me. Jan arrived for my 2nd song.

It was really helpful to hear what these very successful and talented people had to say to each one of us writers/performers and what we could do to improve. They were able to focus in and tell us what was working well for us and what wasn’t. Most of all, they were encouraging in a constructive way. It was a wonderful experience and lots of fun.

Blessings!
Laura
